It was an evening when, in Žaboškreky under the bridge – a place with a soul, patiently waiting to be awakened – we breathed life into something truly special together. We welcomed our guests, friends, and lovers of tradition to celebrate not only the work of our hands, but above all our pride in this region.
With the launch of the Myjavská Slivovica brand, we wanted to bring more than just a new product to the market. Our aim was to revive a story that connects history, honest craftsmanship, and the identity of the Kopanice region. We believe that traditions truly come alive when we embrace them again and carry them forward with respect for future generations.
Why October 28th? 🇸🇰🇨🇿
This date was no coincidence. It is our tribute to the shared history of Czechs and Slovaks. On this day, we did not only introduce Myjavská Slivovica – officially returning after one hundred years – but also Československá Marhuľovica, distilled from apricots grown in Moravian orchards. It symbolizes the enduring bond between the Kopanice hills and the Horňácko region. The trio of our products was completed that evening by Copados – an exclusive modern brandy aged in oak barrels, opening a new chapter in the story of our region.
A Glass and a Word, United 📖
The entire evening carried the spirit of When Roots Come Alive.
To deepen this connection with the past, we also presented a reissue of the now rare monograph Myjava by Július Bodnár, brought back to life after 114 years. The book and the slivovica share the same message – that the past still speaks to the present, and that memory can naturally and beautifully intertwine with today.
Even now, we still feel the emotions, laughter, and conversations that filled our distillery that night. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who helped turn this dream into reality – from those who, with deep knowledge and love for Myjava, brought its history to life, to the agency, the head chef and his team, the bartenders, and everyone who gave the evening its spirit.
As one of our guests said – a legend was born.
We are deeply grateful that you were there with us, and that thanks to you, our roots are coming alive once again.
