The Beginning: A Tribute to Tradition
In the Myjava Region, distilling has been a way of life since time immemorial. It is not a craft you simply study; it is an instinct we carry within us as locals. In 2020, driven by this heritage, we acquired the last remaining distillery in Žaboškreky from the Kulíšek family. Our mission was clear: to restore the honor of traditional fruit distilling and elevate it to world-class quality.
The Grower’s Distillery: Our School of Craft
We began by serving our local community. We completely reconstructed the historic site into a facility that has since earned the prestigious CING Award for innovative modernization. At the heart of our distillery, we installed Arnold Holstein technology — the gold standard of distilling — to bring global precision to our Myjava traditions.
Every season and every single drop we distilled for our local growers became our greatest teacher. We learned to patiently understand the character of the fruit and to master the process, ensuring the result is always a pure and noble spirit. We take pride in being a community hub where a year of hard work in the orchard is transformed into a family treasure.
From Service to our Own Label
Thousands of hours at the copper stills and hundreds of tons of processed fruit led us to a natural turning point. Obtaining our commercial distillery license was more than just a formal step; it was a declaration of our readiness. We felt it was our duty to provide the Myjava region with a flagship product — one that can stand tall and proud on the international stage.
And so, Myjavská Slivovica was born.
The year 2025 will be written in the chronicles of our distillery in bold letters. It was the year we breathed life into something truly exceptional. Something that had been pulsing through the heart of this region for generations, patiently waiting to be awakened. By launching Myjavská Slivovica, we wanted to bring more than just a new spirit to the market. Our goal was to revive a story that weaves together history, honest labor, and the true identity of our region.
We believe that traditions only truly live when we embrace them as our own and pass them on to future generations with respect. As one of our guests remarked: “A legend is born.” For us, however, this is just the beginning of a journey where we humbly protect the legacy of our ancestors while proudly crafting a future that our region can be proud of.
